How is DTV PQ on SD/HD channels on the H20 and HR20 compared to Dish 211 and 622?
I want to get the best picture out of the two..im still comparing..i am leaving charter communications because they are killing me..their quality is horrid.

Best bet is to get to a friends house and look at them for yourself in as similar a setup as you will have. Other than that you will get about a 50/50 split here that isnt going to help you decide and they really are 99.9% exactly the same.

Agree with the look for your self approach. Also, if you can, wait until after D* gets the 1st of their two new sat up this spring/summer and then take a look. If you go with E* and they can't match D*'s offering or PQ on the new sats with MPEG4 you might not be a happy camper.

So pretty much DTV with the new sats will be better and PQ will be better too>? Also that means more bandwidth which causes better PQ than Dish Network?
And that means more channels too?

Theoretically, and we D* subs sure hope so, but only time will tell.

I have both dish and directv-In my theater I have both the 622 and H20 via hdmi through a DVDO 4x1 switch to a Sony Pearl. I see absolutely NO difference whatsoever between the two on a 133" Draper screen-both look great to me.:)

OMG, my son you have commited the cardnial sin, saying D* looks as good as E*. You better get ready for the folks that recommend that you get your eyes checked ASAP since you are blind as a bat. ;)

The short, concise answer is that it depends upon who you ask.

Both D* and E* have their die hard advocates.

A lot depends upon the set up that you are looking at. If both D* and E* dishes are perfectly aligned, cables/switches are all good, etc, etc, displays are set up for optimum picture quality--they'd probably both be better than your local Charter.

Right now, E* seems to have the edge on HD offerings with their Voom channels. D* has a huge edge on pro football with their NFLST.

By late fall of 2007, D* is supposed to have two new satellites up and many more HD channels. Time will tell.

Good luck in choosing!
