As I understand, I have to start by pointing the dish to the southernmost sat, my zip is 93420 so it will be 119 or 120 degrees? is that correct?????

Yep! Same as your longitude!

121º would be best!

So I'll set my reciever to Echostar at 121 and then start looking for the signal? then lock it and start scanning more sats? any more tips, I got the Pansat3500sd.....

Thankd for the fast reply, this thing is driving me NUTZ

You only need to point south if you have a motorized satellite system!

List everything you have for more detailed help.

Let us know what it says on your LNB.....
What brand of motor......

Motor Elevation should be 55º

Dish on motor should be at 24º

One side of the motor is marked ELEV. the other LAT.

Its a good idea NOT to use the switch at all right now. I would also advise finding and storing a few satellites before adding the motor.

Need more info on the LNB, if you have the L.O. wrong it will really mix you up.

Standard LNB L.O. 10750

Universal LNB L.O. 9750-10600

Thanks for your help Pete, it's all working, didint get all the satellites, but got a good lock (50-80%) on at least 7.. this weekend I will fine tune the system...

It was pretty easy to set and align..

Thanks again..

Any tips for scanning all sats (well 5 at a time) with all TPs? is there a way to make the thing scann ALL the arc? from H to H???

is there a reciever that does that? a friend of mine saw it and wants one, so I will be buying a second system, Pete, the system I go is great, is there a better system?

Thanks

Christian

The predecessor of the Traxis, the Satworks 3688 could do that!

You could leave it scanning the whole arc all night! It would blind scan one satellite then move to the next....repeat.....repeat. When you got up in the morning all the new channels on all satellites were scanned into the receiver!

Great receiver, I will never part with my Satworks :)

Sorry do not have a Pansat (Swapped one with Iceberg) but have installed MANY.

Much prefer Fortec :)

And last question, So on SAtfinder I get a list of x sats, on my rx I get less than that, how do I manually enter a new bird? via channel master or something like that?

is that list actually telling me what is available to my sat?

Thanks

Should be a way on most receivers to add a new satellite name.

Most/all satellites on the list are viewable, some may be C-Band only (Need a 6' dish)

Check the elevation of the satellite, if its under about 10º you would be VERY VERY lucky to get it!

Double check the BEAM (footprint) of the satellite on Lyngsat to make sure you are within the footprint/broadcast area!

antenna install
(password)
scroll down to edit satellite/TP (hit OK)
scroll down to the end...it will say "new"
add satellite

Or you can rename a C-Band satellite if you arent going to use that

Thanks Iceberg.... also I cant find a Satworks 3688, who sells them???

Scanning all sats...

When you have the satellites programmed in, the Buzz unit will scan all of them.

I don't know if it will blind scan all of them automatically or not.
