Hi
I have a old one (1) Meter Driect TV dish with LNB and mount, Can I Fit a modern LNB of the Dish network sort to this and use it for distant (fringe) sat reception
and where i might learn any needed math to mount and use a FTA LNB on it, and or a "C Band LNB"

as in does anyone know how or where to find the dimentions at where to mount an LNB,, also
its got what appears to me a simplex LNB ( real old LNB) has it any value as far as wild feeds type use?

Please advise and let me know what i can do with this new toy
or posb, driect me to a link i might read-up and learn how i might do this correctley,

Thanks

Sparkz

Sorry for spelling

Do you have a photo of the dish? It'll help us picture everything a bit better (although I know it's pouring down rain today, so if you don't have it inside, don't get soaking wet just to take a picture) :)

By the way, welcome to Satellite Guys!

Welcome to Satelliteguys!

Yes please show us what you have a picture can help lots.

The only DirecTV 1m dish that comes to mind, was deployed in Mexico.

What do you consider "fringe" satellite reception?
A 1m would be excellent for normal FTA reception.

Normally, changing out an LNBF shouldn't pose any problem.
Sometimes a new bracket is needed, but that's been done to death.
As mentioned above, show us several pictures front 'n rear.

A 1m dish on Ku, makes great sense.
Trying to get C-band on 1m ... well, less so.
You can search the forum for a several year old thread by Linuxman; he did arguably the most thorough 1m job.
I suggest you concentrate on getting the dish running on Ku.

What other dishes & receivers do you have operating now?

IF you want to do the math, I can't help. I saw/had the formulas a long time ago, but forgot them after I found Parabola Calculator 2.0 Use the WIFI calculator for an offset dish.
For FTA you'll need an LNBF that is of the Linear polarity type. (Vertical & Horizontal)
Ku Circular is for dish and direct. (LH and RH)
