HR-10-250 and Phone Line

I thought we didn't have to keep the box plugged into the phone line to get the Guide Updates, I was just looking at my messages and it hasn't updated since I installed it on the 6th. Is there something I need to change? I live so far in the boonies that it has to call the moon and to get a open line. Can't afford to keep it plugged in all the time.

So we don't have to keep it to a phone line? I have mine hooked in once every week because for some reason my wireless modem jack only work once in a blue moon it seems. It's not a big deal just PITA for me on my day off when I get tired of the stupid nag screen. I wish they would go to some wifi set up, my router signal is great all over the house.
