i need help with the motor instalation

i have an fta system and i finally got to see some channels so i bought DiSEqC H-H Motor SG-2100 hoping it will make easy for me to navigate satellites from my living-room first i hooked the motor to my receiver in the living room and the motor is working but when i hook the lnb to it it give me a message short lnb even tho the lnb and the cords are fine is there a way to fix this or i should send the motor back to the seller and any tips and no's no's

Check for a short in the coax connecting the LNBF to the motor. Does the short warning display if only the motor and the coax jumper (not connected to the LNBF)?

Maybe the motor and the LNBF together draw to much current. What brand and model receiver and LNBF?

Welcome to the forum!

As Brian asked in the post above, I would also like to know what all the equipment you have is (the LNBF, the cable, the FTA receiver).
You already mentioned the motor - SG-2100, so we got that covered.

One of the main items that I would like to know about is your cable. Are you using old cable that was used in a previous installation? You might have a bad section or a bad connector.
If these cables were not your own creations and if they are something you are reusing from old installations, they may not be of good quality, even if they were working for you on a fixed
point installation previously. Also, if you had to fabricate any section of cable yourself, it is possible that you allowed one little "fray" of wire short between the center conductor and your
outer shield. This is not uncommon for a beginner or novice and you should not rule it out even if you believe that you performed a superior job on the cable creation.

Divide and conquer your system to isolate the fault, i.e. the short.

thank you guys for your help i really really appreciate it it was the cables they were from old installations but now not sure if i should buy new ones witch means more cables than i need or build them my self witch is a nightmare for a guy like me knowing how sensitive the fta systems are

It's not real hard to learn to make good cables for FTA. You need RG-6 cable, compression fittings for RG-6 and a compression crimper. See below for examples:

This is not the only source for these, and there are more expensive types.

If you want to buy pre-made cables, I have bought from this guy on Ebay, and his stuff is very high qualiity. I bought some Quad shield cables: http://www.ebay.com/sch/prowireguy/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3692

You are paying a premium for it, as you can make your own cables. However, his stuff is excellent quality, and I thought you'd like to be aware of it.

it's easy to have a bad cable, but this suggestion is equally valid.
Please answer the question.
Also, do you have any switches , diplexers, or other items hooked up?

Anolle's good points, plus it might be good to note-be sure you run the cable to the motor first, then from motor to lnbf. And that you have chosen the correct coax connections on the motor itself.

my system consist of a receiver ( echolink EL - 5060 2ca usb ) an old goldvision universal lnb (freq : 10.70 -12.75) and a dish

i did get the lnb short message with alot of cables some of them are fairly new even when i just hooked the receiver to the motor so i know that the lnb have nothing to do with it ; but with one of the cables that i used, it did give me the short message but when i held it straight and pressed on it the problem was solved so i concluded that it is a cable problem

again i welcome all suggestions and tips thank you guys
