I own a S10 Hughes Tivo DVR from previous DTV acct & I ordered the new R15 for free after $99 rebate. After reading all the posted opinions on this forum, I'm really confused as to which one I should use and which one I should give to my tenant who lives downstairs.

The r15 has more recording time, but have the issues with the dual buffer and 30 second skip been addressed? I know DTV and TIVO have kissed and made up, but for how long will the DirecTivo be compatible? Finally, I don't have a phone jack downstairs. so will that prevent the Tivo unit from functioning probably?

The installer was scheduled to be here between 8am and 12pm, it's now 1:15, and they're now supposed to be here b4 3pm, so any info b4 then would be appreciated.

Also: Anyone know if Sportsnet NY is included with TCP? I live on L.I.

Give the tennant the R15 if you are used to TiVo you will be dissappointed with it's operating system. R-15 does not need to be connected to a telephone line. R-15 now has a 30second SLIP (a FAST FORWARD but visible)
