Umm, is Fred released new version of SA.EXE ? What's your program reporting ? Before it was on different site.
I have/did/do, and haven't gotten it to work yet.....?Anyone ever had a problem with sa.exe from the moonglow.net website being detected as a virus?
I downloaded the software and per the readme.txt decided I would play around with it for a bit while I am waiting for my BLSA to arrive and AVG anti-virus detected it as an Obfuskate virus. I sent it off to AVG for analysis, but won't hear back from them for a while (2-3 days) probably.
I'm still curious - what version of SA.EXE you're running ?
From what he wrote, there is a possibility that we might have a newer version this winter.The download file does NOT have a virus in it. Quite a few people have reported this same problem. I verified the download file again just to be sure. Your virus scanner is reporting a false positive. What likely happenned is that the virus scanner trashed the install in an attempt to "help". Disable the virus scanner, redownload and reinstall the software, try running sa.exe, and if everything is working OK then reenable the virus scanner. Make sure rsxnt.dll is present in the same directory as sa.exe. Everybody who has had this problem has reported success with this method.
Unfortuantely, to fix the false positive would require porting the source code to a modern compiler (I developed it with RSXNTDJ a looooong time ago). That's a big undertaking that I don't have time for at the moment, but maybe this winter.
Unfortunately due to NDA's and some other complications I cannot release
any meaningful part of the SA code.
The BLSA project is now over eight years old, and has been three years
since there was significant activity on the project. I don't think
there is sufficient interest in the community to justify a major effort
on the software. Anyone is welcome to develop their own software,
that's why I posted the serial protocol.
mine in Properties says:For continue discussing the program ( by any common sense and IT rules ) you must post here:
- version (usually Help or About or Properties will help )
- module size (bytes)
- date/time of creation/mod.
Lets add meaning to your concerns.
Well, my SA.EXE have different size:mine in Properties says:
Folder = sa_1.1
Size = 135 KB (138.651 bytes)
Size on disk = 328 KB (335.872 bytes)
Created = Saturday, July 26 2008, 12:37:50 PM
in readme it says:
version = 1.1, June 21, 2003
The part that worked for me, came from the SE_17.3 Install
Well, my SA.EXE have different size:
size:183 KB (187,904 bytes) [!]
on disk:184 KB (188,416 bytes)
help/about: v1.1 June 21, 2003
Hey, that's a pretty reasonably priced radio.A Grundig Yacht Boy 400 is another good SW radio with SSB that works well. I recommend getting one with SSB as it's easy to miss the signal on some weaker signals when listening on AM...the hetrodyne tone on SSB is easier to hear.
I dunno if it's been mentioned but it isn't necessary to install the drivers for the Broadlogic card just for BLSA operation. All the card is doing is getting power from the PCI bus to operate the tuner and make it functional.
Really!! I didn't know that. I guess all you need the drivers for is to use it for viewing signals with it's native software.
I think the TT S2-3200 and DVBViewer will be more reliable for viewing what I find, especially S2 feeds.
Thanks!
Well, some of you are old-timers at chasing satellite signals.Absolutely it will be more reliable since BroadLogic cards are limited on the number of PIDS they can process at once. But even before the BLSA a group of us (Photoman and some others that come to SatelliteGuys were in that group) were using the BroadLogic cards as satellite receivers with Hans van Oostrom's software...this was before other PCI cards such as the Twinhan were on the market. I saw my first 4:2:2 and my first HD signal with one.
I remember picking up used BroadLogic cards for 8 bucks each...then when the demand went up the price skyrocked up to around 75 bucks each.
Do you guys think the Kenwood R600 will do this job adequately?
Thanks ACRadio.Absolutely!
Regarding BL-2030 drivers and SW, I found it pretty useful - it's allow you to control polarity.
