install help? Elevation/declination

install help! Can't change btw sats

Ok I have the digipower sg 2100, and it says this on

= 30 minus declination angle

So what is my elevation angle?

i'm in 64137. I'm not sure if i'm suppose to look up a sat and enter what it is for that sat or if its just one spot, and the motor will move to the elevation. If its just one setting and the motor moves.. i'm not figuring out the one setting?

errrrrrrrrrrr hrs and I can't get above a 33%(g3c) and nothing locks on... somehow i picked up IA-5 at 55%.

IA-5 is at 97w so you are just 2º away from G3C (From behind dish you need to go to the left 2º)

Use this transponder, its VERY strong...........

i played with it a couple of weeks before i got a motor and that kinda got me a good feel for direction of the south sat. and movements for the next satellites 2 degrees isn't alot and using a live transponder like Pete has listed really helps hone in on a good signal.... these guys here are great with instructions and pointing tips. Main thing is not to give up and not to get frustrated. just come back and ask more questions if you don't get it. I don't know who said it but its true "The only dumb question is the one not asked."

i've did a full scan and got about 7 channels some of them were 70+ strength. I don't know what that means. I'm going to run a full scan on all the channels and see what I come up with... Looks like this will be a few day asignment. If I can avoid a install that would be great.

70% signal quality is GREAT, you should be getting the CCTV channel.
I get them at around 77% signal quality here in MN.

(I use a Traxis DBS 3500 receiver, 36" dish and an Invacom QPH-031 LNBF.)

Seems weird... every Sat I move to, and do a full scan with... I get the same channels on every sat?

Do you think the motor is moving the sat?

The channels I'm getting are in the 70-80% range

On G10 Kuil (FOX) is the only channel i'm getting, besides like all the others the same channels over and over.

Somethings not right, if you are using USALS make sure you have your latitude (N) and longitude (W) set correctly in the antenna set up screen.

If you are using DiSEqC 1.2 enter a LIVE transponder from the satellite you are looking for and watch for signal QUALITY as you move the dish/motor.

Ok looking at that channel list. It looks like i'm locked into amc4.

I have only amc4 channels, so when I go to set up another sat its really not moving.

What type of receiver do you have? Are you using USALS or Diseqc 1.2 to move the motor? Somewhere in your setup on your stb you should have a section to input the values of where you are at. Then you should have a dish setting or something similiar. Also check to see that lnb power = on and that the LOF = 10.750 hope this helps.

You will also have to enable USALS (or DiSEqC 1.2) on EACH satellite you setup for the motor to move to it.

Ok I have G3 as my south point.

When I try to set the position of another sat the motor moves to the right every time, and goes right back to the south point? Any thoughts on whats not right?

where do I do that? the only place I see anything like that is under "set"

Under usals nothing moves. Under diseqc it just moves to the right then back.

I have found every sat, and have good quality on all of them. I put in my long/lat, and when I set the channels it seems everything is fine. then when I go to change sat's the only one it will go to is my true south.

are you setting the motor up at every satellite. my first motor mistake was i set only one satellite up, i did put the long & lat in but i didn't goto each satellite setting in the receiver and set it to either USALS or 1.2 i went back and did this for each satellite one at a time and they all worked.

for my receiver under the "motorized settings" it says
diseqc motor : none USALS 1.2

one must be selected if none is selected the motor wont move to this satellite

well that was the mistake i made, good thing i learned from it

either my receiver is broken or my motor is... I have gone through this over and over, and it will not keep the sat saved, once I try to swap sats and it forgets the last on I went to.

any experts on fortec classics with mortorized dishes? With last advice before I send some things back?
