Issues with Macrovison copy protection

Has anyone had any problems with Macrovision copy protection and their Satellite receiver?

I'm curious what were the symptoms.

Is it common for a satellite receiver to have it? Are there any models around that are notorious for having problems with it?

Macrovision technology is already available and upon demand with most decoder chip sets currently on the market. The distributor of content must request activation from provider to consumer and pay for the activation. Therefore, not a cost effective business plan. Seems like it is there to jusify " We can do it if you'll pay" thing.

Nothing has Macrovision turned on that I know of. If they did I am sure we would be hearing about it.
