i got the W5 super pack and ALL HBO/MAX

that W5 super pack is sweet...a lot of those channels are top tier on digital cable and pizza. You can't beat it for 30.00 per month.

I got my HBO and Max on both w5 and G1. my neighbors new tree may get in my way on G1 this summer...he said he's cutting it down (and I am willing to help btw).

SRL is a pleasure to do business with.

That's the thing about the Bud subs and W5. We get the top tier channels for low $. When I look at cable or pizza packages they want $85 a month for some of those. And the W5 picture looks better then pizza and cable.

SRL is great, no doom and gloom or hard pizza sell like NPS. I thought NPS was bad when they pushed there phones etc. Now they make you sick when you talk to them. Glad it's all down to just letting a couple alacart channels to run out with them now for me. I'll pick those up and a few more when I go 100% with SRL. Right now I'm at 90% with SRL.

Keep offering help to cut that tree down with your neighbor. You may get it done sooner.

I agree its still a good deal. HITS treats us right. HITS SD feeds look pretty darn good especially compared to pizza. I did a comparison of one of the big pizza companies - you know the one that toots their own horn about how they have the most HD...blah blah blah...and i can tell you that the W5 HITS feeds were much sharper and smoother during fast screen actions such as nascar racing, etc. The SD pizza feeds were horrible.. the were very smeared and pasty looking like the image details were blended together.

Honestly most of the HD on pizza was about equal to or just a "skin on the teeth" better than HITS sd feeds. I was doing this comparison on a toshiba 240hz 1080p capable 42" LCD tv.

The pizza box was fed in via HDMI and the 4dtv was feed via a composite video cable (a dsr 905 sidecar)....guess it says something about pizza's bit starved scheme.

Now if more people understood just how bad Pizza dishes are maybe we could get rid of them and get back to great programming and pricing.

If you say that pizza HD looked a tad bit better than HITS SD does that really says bad things about pizza HD. HITS while it is good it's not as sharp and detailed as the SD masters. I was watching ABC Family and Disney's DC-2 G-14 SD masters while they were ITC a while back. When they encrypted again. I went back to watching HITS and noticed that HITS was softer and had some digital artifacts that the masters didn't. This was being fed via S video from my 922 to my 32" Sharp AQUOS 1080p HDTV. What that tells me that pizza HD is nothing more than a joke and can never compare to a SD master. Which I have been saying right along since I have seen pizza HD at stores on display and to me it's soft and full of artifacts.

I was watching Shaw (Starchoice) from Canada, Access tv on my DSR 405 yesterday, and it looks really good. It may even be better than HITS. Pizza has a long way to go to keep up with what we are watching in terms of picture quality and price. Will they ever improve or drop price? NO

They don't have to improve, or drop prices, they have been around long enough that people think that is how it is suppose to be, they seam to be more interested in bragging about how many channels they have rather then how many they actualy watch and how they look.

in the pizza world its always better to cram the most channels on a transponder instead of the cleanest picture on a quality channel....i like how they are starting their own platform based channels to further take up their bandwidth starved systems...it would be like if sirius or xm added "martha sterwart East" and "martha stewart west" LOL...we need that stuff to make our music channels sound more like am radio playing through a tin can.

BTW...I have seen the disney HD master feed before too...let me tell you about stunning. Fashion TV HD looks good and its actually bit starved to some degree. TBN on G14 HD feed is pretty impressive i must say.

The Disney SD master looks fantastic. I can imagine what the HD mux looks like. I'll have to check out TBN HD on G-14, the Visionsat will get that

Let the FCC know that your not happy. The signals are available up there many time in formats other then DC2. The most often of which is PowerVU. They just refuse to sell the signal to the public. Ironic considering that radio spectrum is a resource of the american people (In the US any way) and that we, the FCC and the public, allow the broadcasters access to that spectrum with the understanding that it needs to be used in the publics best interest, need and necessity.

I wish I had a nickle for every time I have argued that exact same thing, mostly on the other site...you know which one, we should be able to have a say in how they are used, and how we get screwed by the suppliers.

On another note yesterday I was talking to a person who used to be a sales person for Dish, it was a tear system (Piramide) once they had a good base built Charley said oh we changed the system and took it all away from the guys who built it up, the guy is still a theif.

Well the way I see it is if we could get a movement started to get people from this site as well as all the other people who sub to 4dtv to pettition the fcc they will listen , remember that we the people united can acomplish many things rigth now congress is about to to vote on getting rid of the distant networks law , now if that is done , then why not write to them to make a rule that allows the people from srl or sky vission have access to the power view format so that they can sell more programing as well as force motorola or general instruments to share the technology of the new receiver formats with other manufacturors

I think Turner wants to sell to us too from what you posted. But the technology ain't there for us. I still say a good fta box with a CA card is the way to go.

My guess is people like Motorola, and Cisco are in bed with the major players and happy that way, if the FCC could get enough input to make them put pressure on these two companies they would build a box for us, and I am not so sure it would be all that expencive for them to build considering they already build them for content suppliers, they just need to be kicked off of their thrones.
The boxes might not be all that cheep to us, but as long as they where cost effective over their life span, I know I thought the 4Dtv was pricey when I got it, and I am on my second one, but I feel like I have gotten my money out of it, because I had the first one a long time, and I have had this one for a few years now, I know if I could afford it, and I knew the programming would be affordable, and al-a-cart I would get one.
