Ok, I have the dish and the reciver, all i need to do is to set it up, but the problem is this, my parents house is HUGE! One of the best places to mount it is on the chimney but the problem is that its a pretty tall house, and you cant mount it on the roof because its concrete. And not only that, but the chimney is in the middle of the house! I have a satellite photo of how the house is, i can try to get some pictures from the ground. I have no idea what to do, like with the grounding and what to do with the cables

the red dot is where the dish is gonna go
the green dot is where the tv is
the purple dot is where all the cables go in the house for the tv

Judging my the shadows I'd guess the house faces close to South.

A pole mount near the left side of the garage would work if LOS isn't a problem. It'd be a lot easier than getting up on that roof :).

The best bet is if you don't have any experience with this then pay someone to do it. It will look neater and you will have no problems with it working correctly.

Belive me, if it was my house I'd pay somebody else to do it, but since its my dads he just has to do every himself. but anyways, the house sortof faces south i guess, heres another map of the house

the arrow points to the south, which is where the intelsat 5 is

Sorry about the size for the rest of the pictures, couldn't really size them down:

The red thing is where the dish is gonna go, i've talked to the neighbors and they say its ok to install it there

For the tv cable i thought this

then to run it all the way to here which is where all the cables go

The black cable that is there already is for cable tv, but i thought to stick in another wire into the grounding block (yellow) and into the wall

Oh well, I just hope he changes his mind and gets a pro to do it

What is the purple dot for, if there is the place where the electrical meter box locate, you can place the pole to the front side which you can see the south for the dish. And run the cable to where the coax cable in to the house, if that is rg6 cable for TV only, you can combine and split the TV signal with the satellite signal by using a pair of diplexer.
