"On Friday, May 13th, we received LG's latest plasma and this TV, models 50PY2DR and 60PY2DR, which has leap-frogged past every other plasma and sets the standards even higher for other manufacturers to catch up.
Other than all of the enhancements of image quality that LG has developed, this TV has a built-in HD recorder and a new Gem Star Guide, so you can record your favorite SD or HD video source, rewind, FF, slow motion and pause live TV, of course, it has the 5th generation ATSC tuner Clear QAM and is CableCard ready.
It's all wrapped up in an absolutely beautiful advanced industrial design. The plasma display panel is artfully offset mounted on a thin back plate, which houses all of the electronics and the digital recorder. The offset flat panel plasma appears to be floating on it's thin back panel housing. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, it's incredible built-in audio system with 12 speakers, 2 sub-woofers and in-outputs for AC-3. This is a significant milestone for flat panel HDTVs."
