I read from time to time that there will be a switch. Is this a guess or factual. What is the time frame? This is an important question when considering buying equipment, and signing commitments.

That's MPEG4 I think and it is factual but the timeframe is a guess but will probably see them out in the fall. Any equipment you buy now should give you a couple years of service before going obsolete but that's just an opinion.
