My own comments, didnt want to litter the OP with them...

I think Sony got in front of this 360 rebound crying 'shortage' due to 'unexpected demand of the 80gb models.'

Though most would call it 'discontinued the Motorstorm bundle to increase demand for the MGS bundle' but I wouldn't want to split hairs or anything.

Comparing the newer multiplatform games...

Army of Two 360 vs PS3 was 2.6:1... to maintain that ratio with Vegas 2, the PS3 version would have had to sell 289,000 units.

It didnt, and sold less than 224k (didnt make the top 10).... so the conclusion is.....

A lot of Blu-Ray players out there?

To compare staying power of game sales, would be real nice to see a comparison of COD4 for both systems over time, would be very telling of the amount of PS3s being used for game systems given how popular the title is.

GT5 will be interesting next month but will be in the glare of GTA4, and up for debate since downloads likely won't be disclosed by Sony to add to the totals unless they're really good numbers.

In the end, good month for all hardware-wise. PSP games in the top 10 are good for Sony, the usual Wii and 360 success, and even a PS3 title to round it out.

721k units for the Wii. Wow!!! That's pretty impressive. What's also interesting is the PS3 is finally outselling the PS2 and is pretty much on even keel with the 360.

I'd love to know where those 721k Wiis are as I still have never seen one in a store since it was launched. I only have one because a friend of mine who lives in Idaho picked one up for me, apparently thats were the 721k are
