I'm sure this has been repeated over and over, but I suck at searching. Sorry!

I might be switching from DISH to DTV (if they don't give me hell about my credit). Right now we have cables running from the DISH LNBFs into the attic where they are barrel connected into existing RG6 lines into each bedroom.

I'm looking at 1 HD DVR (I guess a HR21?) and 2 "regular" receivers. I have two questions about this:

1) How many lines am I going to need from the LNBFs to the attic? I think the dishes are quad now?
2) I'm going to need to run a 2nd line to the HR21 obviously. It looks like the cable just runs down the wall from the attic. Is it possible to somehow just tie new lines to the existing one and pull them up? What's the easiest way to fish a new coax line (or two)?

Thanks ahead of time!

Your installer would do all of that crap, unless you plan on installing yourself, which I wouldn't recommend unless you're in a huge hurry. If you're already running 4 lines, I'd ask the DTV guy for a multiswitch to make sure if you ever want to expand that you have the opportunity.

Best of luck to ya! I switched about 6 months ago and haven't looked back.

I was under the impression that standard installation doesn't include wallfishing?

It doesn't, I just did an attic run and wall fish while the installer mounted the dish. Mostly because he didn't even want to take the money to go in the attic (it's hot in Florida) and I didn't want a sloppy wiring job.
