Can only assume that's what happened. "Show" was to start 40 minutes ago and there's nothing on CNN, etc and a Google turns up nothing. Even if they were milking it, you'd think SOMETHING would be out by now.

NOW they come out with a tablet? (if that's what it was about)

10.6-inch display, 9.3mm thin, full-sized USB 2.0, 680g, magnesium chassis, gorilla glass 2, front and rear cameras, HDMI. Sounds sexy. No way this will be wowing anyone with a low price point.

I LOVE IT that it "crapped out" at the demo!

Yep- its a Microsoft product!

The Gizmodo reporting is quite amusing.

Yep folks, it's got a fan. Or at least the "fancier" version does.

Sounds like no firm release date and hope for building interest and speculation.

Battery life up for more speculation.

By the time this hits the streets we'll see how many other tablets?

I guess I'm overly negative, but I think there are too many unknowns. And who wants to trust MS enough to invest in developing apps? I'm not the only one who remembers Zune.

If it runs on windows 8, every program and app that runs in windows will probably work in some form if hardware requirements are met.

What networks will it work on? Oh its WIFI only?

Yuck!

One of the things I like about the iPad is being connected and having access to my stuff anywhere.

Surely you jest!

I got the sense from the way they persented the product, that it is not ready for prime time yet. They were missing demos of various apps running on this system.

That may explain why the first unit crashed. When it is near release Microsoft should have another conference showing off how great the apps run on this puppy, just like Apple.
