I'd like to see if Lance would say the same things if he had to sit in the stands for 20-80 games at one of the "nostalgia" parks. I would bet he'd change his tune.

Good point. I can understand of the other complaints he had("too much of pitchers park"..."they will bring in the fences in 2 years tops)..and to a certain degree, agree with him. But to b%#ch about the looks?

You what I found out yesterday? 2 things, my partial season ticket package comes with $10 in food and/or drink credit on every single ticket for every game. 2ndly, they will have 1 concession stand/area in each level selling that visiting teams type of food that they sell in there ball park...how freaking cool is that?

Seriously, what's wrong with Dodger Stadium? If the only problem with parks like Fenway Park,Wrigley Field,& Dodger Stadium is that your tushy isn't comfortable when you sit down........good grief. The Oakland A's have a bad stadium that desperately needs to be replaced, but that's the only stadium that needs to be replaced. Fenway Park,Wrigley Field,& Dodger Stadium are national treasures, like it or not. Fenway Park does not need to be razed just because it's bad on one's hemorrhoids.

I went to all the above parks mentioned, the more recent one was for Oakland Raider games at O.co Stadium...and it's a dump. Fenway has GREAT history and tradition...but even with it's upgrades...you still have some crappy as hell views in some sections to the point, as Hart said, serious neck injuries. Wrigley, is an absolutely mess and what makes it "the friendly confines" is the neighborhood at the atmosphere OF THAT neighborhood. Dodger Stadium, I must admit, it has been almost 20 years since I last saw a game there.

I LOVE AT&T Park in San Francisco...a perfect combination of BOTH modern and nostalgic look with all the modern amenities of a new ball park. IF it were for the awful weather in Texas, I would LOVE the Ballpark in Arlington.

He said something into his phone and it looks like he said something like I'm going to flex my muscle and see what happens. He had just walked out of the back and stopped in the middle of center field and did this. He looked so stupid.

The seats at Fenway that cause the most problems, are they the ones that were added recently(minus the Green monster) during the past decade or so?

Jimbo would hate today's BOS/NYY game too. Instead of everyone wearing #42, everyone has no numbers on the back of their throwback jersies...

LOL.....I was thinking of that earlier ;)

But then again, with this current Red Sox lineup, we need all the help we can get. :o

ESPN.com reports that the Boston Red Sox are about to acquire Marlon Byrd from the Cubs in exchange for a lefthanded reliever, presumably a minor leaguer. Byrd is 34 and in the final year of a 3 year, $15 million contract and will fill in for Crawford and Ellsbury. I don't know the intracacies of the MLB luxury tax and soft cap, but one reason given for the Red Sox lack of interest in Oswald was that they absolutely had to stay under the cap for one season because doing so resets it and then puts them on a lower penalty track for the next few years and supposedly, the difference between qualifying for the cap reset and not doing so was going to make a difference of tens of millions of dollars. I'd like someone who understands the MLB cap to explain how they can take on Byrd's $6 million in remaining salary without jeopardizing their anticipated cap reset.

One nice thing about jailbreaking my devices and having an MLB.TV account is that I can watch any Saturday game I want instead of being stuck with the one they think our area should watch. Today is a perfect example. With the RedSox and Yankees being a blowout I am able to watch the other game and see history being made. Won't say what it is as I do not want to jinx it.

I didn't jinx the perfect game but I must have jinx the Sox and Yankees game. So much for it being a blowout. Wow! that was a quick turn of events. 7 runs so far in the 7th and all within the time frame of me watching the bottom of the 9th of the other game.

10-9 Yankees, even though the umps gave at least two close pitches this inning to the Red Sox.

I remember listening on the radio to the second game of a double header between the Red Sox and Angels in 1967, when the Red Sox came back from being down 8-0. I think it was Jerry Adair who won it with a late game home run.
