Modem Question

My father just got Comcast internet installed. I gave him my old CD of Windows XP if he ever has to do a clean install. Are all Comcast modems compatible with XP SP-1?

Thanks Krell. He just retired last week and bought an old computer to play around with. It has XP SP3 on it. Just concerned if he ever had to do a clean install.

Note that XP is no longer supported which means no more Windows updates to patch security holes.

I would be more worried about the support calls you will receive every time he goes somewhere bad on the internet and XP gets infected...

To hell with MS patches. You can't rely on their patches getting to your machine in time anyhow. So you MUST run an antivirus program and let it update itself daily. Many still work with XP. Wish I could say the same for my favorite W2K computer.
