DISH NETWORK® FIRST SATELLITE TV PROVIDER TO INTRODUCE LOCAL CHANNELS IN LIMA, OHIO AND ALEXANDRIA, LA

WHAT: DISH Network® today announced it is the first satellite TV provider to introduce standard definition (SD) local channels in Lima, Ohio and Alexandria, Va.

Channels in Lima include WLQP (ABC) Ch. 18, WLMO (CBS) Ch. 38, WLIO (NBC) Ch. 35, WOHL (FOX) Ch. 25, WTLW (IND) Ch. 44 and WBGU (PBS) Ch. 27.

Channels in Alexandria include KLAX (ABC) Ch. 31, KALBD (CBS) Ch. 35, KALB (NBC) Ch.5, WNTZ (FOX) Ch. 48, KBCA (CW) Ch. 41 and KLPA (PBC) Ch. 26.

WHERE: Lima, Ohio and Alexandria, Va.

WHEN: Standard definition local channels became available to DISH Network subscribers at approximately 7 p.m. EST on Aug. 19, 2009.

WHY: No one offers local channels in more markets than DISH Network; currently DISH Network provides local channels in 182 markets covering more than 97 percent of U.S. TV households.

Continues reign as HD leader with HD locals in 152 markets covering more than 93 percent of U.S. households

WHAT: DISH Network® today introduced high definition (HD) local channels in Columbus-Tupelo, Miss. Channels include WKDH (ABC) Ch. 45, WCBI (CBS) Ch. 4, WTVA (NBC) Ch. 9 and WLOV (FOX) Ch. 27.

WHERE: Columbus-Tupelo, Miss.

WHEN: High definition local channels became available to DISH Network subscribers at approximately 7 p.m. EST on Aug. 19, 2009.

WHY: No one offers more HD local channels in more markets than DISH Network; currently DISH Network provides HD local channels in 152 markets covering more than 93 percent of U.S. TV households.

HOW: DISH Network customers with an HD receiver who subscribe to HD programming and locals will receive HD feeds of their broadcasts at no additional charge. Additionally, Dish Network introduced 4/4 HD locals in Columbus-Tupelo, Miss. as well as KSPR HD (ABC) and KYTV HD (NBC) in Springfield, Mo. and WSBT HD (CBS) in South Bend-Elkhart, Ind.
 
Scott, the last three have common ownership. Do you realize that the afterburn of a retrans deal is what Dish's HD Tuesday is? I'm so Schurz about it that I'd bet on it.
