Is anyone else here looking at abandoning their low split cable plant and
moving to a multicast based system?

It looks like our enterprise will be moving in the next three years.

I am looking at moving a 62 channel system.

What are others using for the back end? I have seen systems from
Video Furnace and VBrick.

We are looking at 2-4 Mbps per channel... for most channels.

Perhaps I have misunderstood this forum, the moderator can feel free to
remove this thread.

I work at a mid-sized research university connected to Abilene/Internet2.

Yes, the licensing discussions with the content providers lawyers is painful.
