Okay guys try to name this DISH receiver. The pic is in the attached doc file. Don't let the smart card in the pic fool you. (I have a feeling this will be too easy)

Doesn't matter, if you activate it, it's a 381.

yep its the 811 that Dish basically renamed the 381. I had one of them

The dreaded 811 receiver . I had this for one month before I gave up on the problems and traded it in for a 921 pvr. Of course this box too had problems but it was a dvr and I learned to baby sit it ,but it did work eventually. My favorite receiver that came out about 6 years ago was the 942 dvr. It had both analog and digital ota .

Dreaded perhaps, but it made for a pretty cheap OTA tuner at a time when OTA tuners weren't particularly affordable.

That was the first receiver I actually smashed with a hammer, as I couldn't stand the bugs in the software.

Correct Answer: It's a 381. I got the pic from ebay but if you scroll down through the page and click on some of those other pics, you can clearly see it's a 381. Dish Network 381 w/G3 purple Card | eBay

sorry but a 811 & 381 is the same receiver except for maybe a repaint of the "381" over the "811"
