Don't forget the extra cost of water to flush the toilet because of all the beer your drinking. :D

The average car shouldn't be $30,000; milk shouldn't be $4 / gallon either, but they are. GET OVER IT! This is a specialty premium product. If you can't afford it, nor see its value (or if it holds no value to YOU), then DON"T BUY IT!.
Thats Interesting,I would have never thought to compair a car and a gallon of Milk to Sunday NFL ticket.

I love how the thread topic replies are now changing away from the real subject in an almost hijack fashion, seeing how the myth has been busted (yet again) and its not going as you wanted it to.

What myth? That your opinion is different then mine ? The myth is ; Can one person say one small line without someone getting all defensive? Thats clearly a Busted myth!

Hey Sco, I tried to read every post so forgive me if I missed it in between the guys here starting trouble.

Any word on Norfolk HD locals? Im between a rock and a hard place with a Jan move to Va and programming providers.

NFL pack is clearly much Higher Price per Hour of Viewing then any ,I mean ANY Programming on TV today.

Ummm, no, silly post. I always thought that the porn was higher....
Let's see 17 weeks, let's just say 1 to 2 games for the average guy that gets it,,,,about 4 hours, 68 hours, 300 big ones, about $3.00 per hour, yup porn definitely more expensive.

What DMA is SOL3 - I'll bet DISH doesn't have your HD lils either.

But Voyager - enuf already. We ALSO get to watch HD on D*. BTW, what channel is NESN-HD on DISH? Or YES-HD? or MLB EI-HD?

go watch your re-runs already will you?

Planet Earth.:D D* doesn't have all of the HD lils either.

I don't follow the Red Sox or the Yankees:eek:. I can follow the local baseball team (if I choose to) on my local RSN. They don't broadcast in HD yet.:(

Care to divulge the list of HD channels to be actually available on Sept. 12th? It would help if you listed those channels available with the $10.99 HD package and those only available through sports subscriptions or with premium movie channels.

Isn't the sport pack add-on about $12/month? Doesn't the MLBEI plus SuperFan cost in excess of $350? Doesn't the NFLST plus SuperFan cost in excess of $350?

extra innings with superfan cost me $200..........sunday ticket with superfan cost me $220. don't know where you are getting your figures from. i got early bird special with mlb and sunday ticket. and i'm getting ST superfan free.

Being that Im a dish sub, I have to ask why you guys are bored enough to come into the D* forum and turn a 3 page thread into a 6page thread with nonsense. Just let it be, you'll see mid Sept what D* will do then you can argue about it.

The package prices came from the D* website. DIRECTV: DIRECTV - NFL SUNDAY TICKET™ You are using renewal prices. Those prices are usually not available to new subs.

Great bargin ? What does it offer fans? It takes advantage of fans. Their is NO reason the price needs to be what it is.

Now that makes no sense whatsoever. A lot of items in our society seem to cost more than most people want to pay. Like your avatar: why does the Hemi cost what it costs? <rhetorical>

The answer is: the price is determined by what people are willing to pay. I am not willing to pay it for now. But if it was terribly over-priced, D* would be bankrupt by now.

Okay, then compare a gallon of gas and a gallon of milk. Again, both prices are market-driven.

But the prior post is correct: out-of-market sports subscriptions are luxury items. By definition that makes NFL-ST etc. things that many (not all) people would like to have, and can live without, but not everyone can afford.
