NBA 2008-09 Season

Check the records, they are almost every year. The last couple of years may have been the exception. The NBA lets too many teams into the playoffs. Same for the NHL. I understand why - most teams don't make money until the second round of the playoffs.

I would prefer that the Pistons fell out of the playoffs and into the lottery, then being Cleveland's first round sacrifice.

I will say this, there's a MUCH bigger chance that an 8 beats a 1 in the NHL than the NBA. The home advantage in the NBA is bigger than it is in any sport.

The two #1 seeds this year- Cavs and Lakers- are historically great! There's no way either falls victim to an 8 seed.

We have a little bit of experience with that here in Detroit.:( The way they're playing right now, it could be one of those years...

It was great to see. This guy is an amazing MAN. Forget the athlete, EVERYONE KNEW he was going to be one hell of a basketball player. But his charity work, his giving to the communicate supercedes ANYTHING he has ever done on the basketball court. I have never had the pleasure of meeting Alonzo Mourning, the person....but I have heard ALL the philanthropic things he has done that is not mentioned much in the news...and he a very giving human being.

Thanks 'Zo!

Celtics to Shut Down The Big Ticket

WALTHAM, Mass. -- [ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=261"]Kevin Garnett Stats, News, Photos - Boston Celtics - ESPN[/ame] will miss at least the next four games with a sore right knee and may return for the final three games of the [ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=bos"]Boston Celtics News, Schedule, Players, Stats, Video - NBA - ESPN[/ame]' regular season.

The emotional leader and defensive star of the defending NBA champions has missed 15 of the last 19 games, including the last two. The Celtics hope the rest will help him get healthy for the playoffs.

Coach Doc Rivers said after practice Tuesday that the team would be "shutting down" Garnett for most of the remaining seven regular-season games because of continued soreness in the knee, first injured Feb. 19 at Utah.

Cavs win! Cavs win! The.......... Cavs win!

13 straight! The magic number to clinch the East is 4. The magic number to clinch the best record in the NBA is 6!

Cavs win a hard fought battle, 79-73 (typical Cavs/Pistons game) over a finally healthy Pistons team. I tell you what, this Pistons team is no #7 or #8 seed either. Whoever draws them in the playoffs will have a tough time.

I'll be damned- Wizards beat the Cavs.

I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut!

As for HD- nothing lasts forever. They weren't going to match Houston's 20-game run a year ago.

Ouch. Tough loss for the Cavs.....they were flat at both ends of the court tonight. The Wizards have had their number this year.

I don't know if the phrase "have their number" is the right phrase....but for some reason the Wizards think there is some kind of rivalry there. They sure as hell get pumped up when they play them.
