Need 622 diagnostics/counter screen info

Please excuse me if these are repeats but my forum search turned up nothing useful.
Can anyone explain the terms used on the 622 diagnostics and for what & when one might use them? Rt side of screen shows button marked HARD
DRIVE and another marked COUNTER.
COUNTER brings up a sequentially #rd set of terms
such as "watchdog"or other similar terms. Anybody
deciphered these? I would love to know.
Sorry if off thread but can anyone tell me if DVR
recordings on my 501 can be retrieved after DISH
accidentally deactivated the unit? There were over 20hrs of valuable rec's on there not fluff easily replaceable.

just use Adv Search with keyword 'watchdog' and select Dish Forum; you'll find all the info.
