Need some help - 8 foot Unimesh install

The swapped-out RX-8200 arrived today. It's playing the HEVC 4:2:2 CBS muxes on 93 and 97 just fine, but not ABC on 99. Is there something funky about ABC on 99?
You need a special Sat S2X video board to lock DVB-S2X signals. A majority of the ones on eBay that have the licenses for it have the wrong board.

Page 5 will show you how to check.

Congrats on scoring one, such a great receiver.

Well crap, we have a license but don't even have the board. Is it possible to buy the board somewhere?

Quick update on the 4:2:2 front. We acquired an Ericsson RX8200 from Ebay. It can directly display 4:2:2 on the TV using SDI output, fed into a cheap HDMI converter from Amazon.

Currently it's licensed for MPEG-2 and h.264 MPEG-4 only, but it is capable of HEVC h.265 4:2:2 decoding. It is fun to be able to display 4:2:2 "on the big screen!"

There are endless options on this receiver. Here are screenshots of the dashboard and photos of the receiver displaying the women's golf tournament from Portland. Source is two 16APSK muxes on 89 C-band.

The receiver has 4 inputs, so you can have KU and C-band side-by side.

Email all the sellers of this receiver on Ebay, and ask them to check the receiver they are selling for the board. If they have a receiver with one, buy it. You can always sell your present receiver.

I would not buy another RX8200 just to receive ABC. Look for a cheap Arris DSR-74XX and connect it to your RX8200 via ASI.

Do double check the model # and specs before buying anything just to be safe.

How does that work?
ASI outputs the entire stream, so it would lock ABC and then send the stream over to the RX8200, you would then switch the input on the RX8200 to ASI and then the ABC channels would be there. Just make sure the Arris DSR receiver you are buying supports DVB-S2X.

The receivers connect with a SDI cable, ASI Out > ASI In

The Ateme DR5000 can also support DVB-S2X but they go for more money and it is a option so there is no guarantee the ones on eBay support it as most sellers don't list what they are licensed for and those can be anywhere from 4:2:0 only to a fully loaded 4:2:2 HEVC.

Last night I used my Edision OS Mini 4K to stream the ABC 4:2:2 DVB-S2X HEVC muxes to my laptop connected to TV via HDMI. The picture quality is quite lossy even when hardwired to the switch, but it's watchable.

output the video from your laptop to your TV and see if the image still appears grainy or normal
