need to step up faster speed on 36 volts reed switch motor

how to speed up a reed switch 36 motor from the back

i recently got this dish that uses a 36volt houston tx motor by city thats all i know

it has the telephone number as well but it aslo says reed switch motor on it

i wanted to speed it up is there a way

i have a vbox x still and works still

i have a 9 foot dish

and some pictures im working on it

so pick this up in el cajon for free in california

i live in mission viejo

this uses just the motor from an actuator and does connect to my vbox x

everything works just need something to go faster but not to fast

it has a gear box and don't aslo know what type of dish setup this is or the name well

i'll leave it up to satellite guys to see what it is and i'll be posting some pics along the way

You can't really change the speed without a sacrifice somewhere else. The motor is a common linear actuator motor. Most are 36V with a reed switch sensor. But the one you have looks a little "crusty". Is it functioning as it should? Maybe your motor is suffering? My H-H mounts are not as fast as most linear actuator setups. They are geared low to pull a heavy dish off the horizon :)

It's a DC motor increase the voltage and it should increase the RPM.

Curious.... Do your Gboxes put out 36Vdc under load?

Most G/Vboxes that I have previously tested drop considerably under load. The old 7 would drop as low as 16-18v.
I'm using the same VBox X as the OP. I just hooked a Fluke to the VBox and measured 32.5v to start ,increasing slowly to 34.5 ~ 35.5v at stop. Both directions

Todays 'code' for an "electrical class 2 device" is, or at least was*, 24 volts MAX (as I understand it)
BITD after some date, that I do not remember, all new IRD's motor drive's supplied 24v. Before that date they were all 36 volt.
Actuator manufacturers did not change anything as actuators operate just fine, albeit a little slower, on 24v
Well, it looks like the 'code' is represented by VA (volts x amps) and the limit seems to be 100VA for 'class 2'. So 36volts limited to 2.0 amps would appear to be well within code. (36 x 2.77 = 100)

voltage becomes how fast the motor turns; because the motor is designed to a certain amperage, which it draws from the volts required. If it is a 36vdc motor; it will go faster than a 24vdc motor; because it is being sent 36vdc. If it is a 24vdc motor; it may not go any faster than the 24vdc "fastness"; but usually handles 36vdc by turning the extra voltage into "more amps available" for its "power formula" says it must. The two voltages are really ranges for design of the "ability for the motor"; but they are really just limits on what the motor can use to then move the dish or arm or gear; it is on. The gears on the sensor then move at the rate the motor moves; making up a certain number of counts per inch (what moves really). All the different motors are all different; but they still all work the motor to move; either of its designed speed and power to push and pull; or it moves them faster or slower. Wire size will also affect the motors movement; making it faster or slower depending on the voltage and amperage available at the motor after the wire affects it :)

But what I see here is a dish and motor combo that has been turned to a certain position for a long time; and I would just take a new motor/actuator and make it turn the dish east and west; and put the vbox back inside the home. This retro-fit needs it; the pictures show it; and I would disconnect AC at the dish; remove any binding of the mount/dish relation; install the actuator arm on the east side of the dish. Hook it up to motor wires and sensor combo; put the v box inside out of the weather; hook it up correctly; BAM; new dish!
 
so with my skills and some more knowledge i wanted to know if this is ok fat air: at 2amp constant voltage 36volts

i could not find a fixed voltage step up controller to add to my motor

how can i get 2 amp with this data : 6V-90V 15A Pulse Width

i measured seen that with an inut of 10-32v approcimately

i can just connect this to my motor vbox-x output wire to motor and try to adjust witht he little screw to get 2amp and 36v


and see the output on my meter
