This is quite a bone Dish has thrown us. SatGuys now have time to upgrade and be grandfathered for a while, while the general public will not know to. I don't think Dish would put this in an ad - too confusing to most.

Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys

Same here getting at half off right now

I won't mind paying $11 for Redzone. When I was with Direct they would not give the channel stand alone. You had to pay $$$$ for Sunday ticket to get it. So $11 is fine and they added The Pac 12 Network.

I'm glad to see that Dish responded well to our complaints, or at least appears to have.

In celebration I'll keep AEP, BB@Home and the 2 Hoppers!

And when the football season starts, I'll add multi-sport.

Keeping BB@Demand as that was on the chopping block for me

They did the right thing by not jacking up the fees big time on existing subscribers. With new subscribers they would see the higher fee in the beginning so it wouldn't be like a big increase after they get started into their contract.

I can see them raising the fees for existing subscribers in the future to match the new customer prices during a year that the programming rates do not increase so that it does not seem like a double increase. It is just delaying the inevitable.

It is good that they are listening to the subscribers though.

So great the actual increases are what they are, and not as first reported. I don't think it was a trial balloon because it came from a member 1st who was told the amounts by a CSR on the phone. It then was more or less confirmed by a DIRT member. Because of that I do believe at that time, the plan was pretty much as reported, and the posts here were a factor. Congrats to Satellite Guys!

So do existing subs see a 7.00 increase if they have 2 hoppers?
existing subs will only see a fee increase if they add one on May 23rd or later (at least until some unknown time in the future when grandfathered status runs out)

You may also lose grandfathered status in any future upgrade like when a Hopper 3.0 comes out.

If you want a second Hopper, or first time upgrade to a Hopper/Joey system, or your a potential new customer - do it now. Existing qualifying customers pay as little as $50 for a single Hopper 2000 upgrade, $100 for a single Hopper w/Sling upgrade, $50 for a second Hopper 2000 upgrade, $100 for a second Hopper w/Sling upgrade. Joeys are included for no additional upgrade cost.

Are you sure about that?? Read the first post again in the "Fees increasing" thread....Looks to me like it originated from DIRT...

And then, after the 22nd? Note the bottom line compared to the original rumor. Please point out where I'm wrong. (Drop the $4 whole home line for revised?):

There is no separate DVR and whole home fee. The original DIRT info was a $14 DVR fee. So grandfathered customers will stay at $10 per month DVR fee. New customers at $12 per month.

The current $10 DVR fee is the old $6 DVR Fee + $4 home fee. Dish merged the two.

Navy, that is still not right. The DVR Service and the Whole Home combined is $12, not $12 + $4

I was hoping that was the case. I just don't know how Dish phrases the Hopper bills- "DVR" or "DVR" then "whole home." I'll drop the $4 Whole Home from the revised sections and repost. Thank you. NOW it's a real savings.

we should probably leave the rumored stuff for the old thread as it's just going to confuse people in this fresh thread. Just a suggestion....
