New DTV Subcriber Question

I have been a E* subscriber for close to ten years, but have become fed up. Moving to DTV on Monday. I have read this site for many months, just no posts. Anyway, I have one room that I can run only 1 cable to the tv, but i have an off air antenae. Can I combine the DTV signal and off air at my distribution box with a signal combiner? And do I need to un-combine it at the receiver before I plug them in? What do I need to make this work? Any help would be appreciated.
