Epix HD Hey guys! EPIX is getting BIGGER and BETTER! Help us name our new channel (description below) and you might win an iPod Nano! All you need to do is participate in a quick survey. Thanks and may the best name win!

New Movie Service Survey

...
Introducing a new movie channel celebrating the films of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. Popular favorites, much-quoted Hollywood hits, hidden gems and harder-to-find genre fare such as Hong Kong kung-fu movies from the 70’s and teen sex comedies of the 80’s are presented unedited and commercial-free alongside rare archival material and original trailers. Prime-time movies and themed monthly stunts are hosted by true filmmakers and fans alike – with special late-night features of wilder, edgier fare hosted “Shock Theater”-style. You can expect to see 175 titles a month with new movies added all the time."

I think this might be the one that got added a few weeks back already. I've noticed the old trailers on there, at least, that I've not seen on Epix 1. Maybe they haven't got the rest cranked up yet, but it sounds good.

Nice selection of movies

but other then TCM & HD net Movies............they are not showing them in the proper aspect ratio. Very disappointing.

This article is about renaming Epix 2. Epix HD and Epix 2 HD are already available on Dish Network (Channels 380 and 381) as part of the HD Platinum package which also includes RetroPlex, IndiPlex, Shorts, HDNet Movies and MGM Movies as well as several other commercial channels like MAVTV, Crime & Investigation and Universal HD.

See ya
Tony

There are no commercials during the movies and just like HBO and other movie channels, they only start their movies on the hour or half hour most of the time sot there is plenty of time to fill. MGM movies is a strange one. They SOMETIMES have a single 60 second commercial break in the middle of a movie. It is jarring! :) The placement of the commercial does not happen at a natural break or scene change in the movie. It happens RIGHT at the mid-point!
