I was looking at a channel line up... for the new mpeg4 channels... if I already have a 61.5 dish, do I need to add a 129? (I have a DP44 with 1 spare input, perhaps another sat like 148 if Dish has HBOHD and SHOHD west?)

Thanks in advance!

I'm having issues with 129 and my D100, my installers solution is to peak 110 / 119 with the 1000 and install a 300 and swing it over to 61.5... I live in Los Angeles and I thought that was a bad idea as i'd lose my locals... what do you all think. I think it'd be a better idea to use that second dish 300 to pull in 129 and leave it be.

gbjbany is correct. Depending on Designated Market Area (DMA), your local HD channels may be on 129 and not 61.5. I'm in Southern California and after my 622 installation (I have one dish pointed at 61.5 for the Voom Channels and another 500 at 110 and 119), the local HD channels did not appear on the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). A call to Tech Support and a technician repointing 61.5 to 129 solved all programming issues.

We sung the second dish over to 61.5 and the signal was amazing but like you all said I was missing my LIL HD channels... so we swung it back over to 129 and peaked it as best as we could, it seems to be more stable and less variation and i'm averaging mid 70s now with the independent dish for 129, hust have to hope that dish either moves LA HD LILs to 110 / 119 or 61.5 OR they improve this dish!

You can find that out here www.dishchannelchart.com atlanta seems to be the odd one out

I'm outside of Baker, Calif. and don't have the LA locals, we have NY distants instead. I thought they were putting HBO HD and SHO HD West on 129? Or os that 148?

I have a DP44 with a spare in, just trying to decide if I need 129 or 148 in addition to 61.5 110 and 119.

Thanks!
Dave
