Thanks to the talent and innovativation of SatelliteGuys member Magic Static, we are now able to offer his custom built sensor adapter for the ASC1 DiSEqC 1.2 Positioner.

Introducing the Optical / Hall Effect Sensor and Reed Isolation Adapter
OHR - Sensor Adapter and Isolator.jpg

The OHR adapter interfaces the ASC1 Satellite Positioner with pulse based position sensors on satellite dish linear actuators and HH positioning motors.

Supports these sensor types with added isolation from noise that may cause positioning and count errors.
  • Hall Effect
  • Optical
  • Reed
Simple to install with direct four screw mounting on the ASC1 rear panel terminal strip. Three color coded terminals provide easy reference for connecting the sensor. The interface is directly powered from the ASC1's 5Vdc terminal with no external power supply required.

The OHR isolates Reed Sensor line noise and reshapes the switch closures providing precise ON/OFF pulses. The isolation removes switch bounce errors often produced by aging or dirty sensors and the unwanted motor or terrestrial RF noise that may be carried on the distribution wiring connecting the sensor circuit to the satellite dish actuator motor.

The heart of the reed relay adapter is a Standex-Meder Reed Relay SIL05-1A72-71D. See PDF reference datasheet: http://titaniumsatellite.com/downloads/asc1/datasheet_SIL05-1A72-71D.zip

* Special Thanks to Magic Static for building and making these adapters available!

Also if you are unsure which wire is which, look for a connection guide inside the motor cover. The Von Weise optical has a sticker inside the cover telling us that orange - positive (+5v), brown - out (signal return), and grey - ground.
