I'm a real novice with tech stuff...please bear with me! :)
I'm replacing a 10-year old receiver box (model DRD42ORE) with a new D12-100 SD receiver box. I'm only using one TV in my house. I cannot get a signal from my 10-year-old dish (18" round). Is my dish too old for this new receiver box? Do I need to get a new slimline dish (like a 3S-SWM) in order to use this new receiver box? Help please!

welcome :wave
The D12 will work fine with the simple 18" dish. When my sister signed up she got 2 D12's and a 18" dish

I assume the dish is aimed already? If so try and do the satellite setup
menu
parental, favs, sat setup
system setup
satellite
repeat satellite setup

When it goes into the list you should select the 1st option (18" dish) and multiswitch

That should fix it

Yep use multiswitch it will work. When I had the D-12 I noticed it didn't have a 18" dish option. Funny thing was SWM worked with my single LNBF also.
