About a couple of days of new service the box now says "server error" I thought all programming was done by satellite? Has something changed DTV is stating the problem is in the installation
 
It should say more than just server error. Where and when are you getting this message?
 
It is my neighbors system and what happen was he called and told them to pick up their equipment and everything started working normal

And you think the Company was messing with thier system ?

That is Not the case.

Did he happen to reset the box or refresh the system ....
Either generally will fix a lot of minor issues ....
Did the message reappear ?
 
model numbers of receivers?
wounds like a mini/main genie connection issue
