Just joined and complete newbie concerning satellite dishes. Ran into this forum while researching. I have an 5 year old direct tv dish that has reception problems in bad weather and seem to be getting worse. Works great in good weather. The only number on it is 1022995-00002. I attempting to learn about LNB's and got the impression that the duals and triples attach to more satellites. I also found a dual LNB that I can switch out on my dish.
The question is 'will I get better bad weather reception changing out LNB's'
or 'would I be better off getting a triple LNB dish'.

Greatly appreciate the forum members filling in my lack of knowledge or pointing me to some tutorials.

I'll third that.

Call DTV and tell them you are having severe rain fade and pixeling. They might send a tech for free to reaim your dish unless you think you can do it yourself.

It's very easy. Especially if you take a small TV and one receiver up with you.

Check your signal strength screens and see what the levels are even in good weather. If your dish is out of alignment, they will be somewhat low instead of in the 90's.
