Wow, good for you, that is awesome. :up

That's one thing I hope to do in my lifetime...

Sandra

This will be my 2nd Super Bowl if everything goes well. The security thing could be an issue because security folks are not too keen on last minute press passes DAYS before the Super Bowl. IF I do not make it...it's ok.

Nope....didn't go....but I WILL be at the Super Bowl with special press credentials if ALL pans out. I still have my good press contacts in Chicago.:D

3 years ago, when the Colts made it to the SB in Miami, I was told by my boss that if they won the AFC the week before, to start packing for FL, as I would be going with our satellite uplink truck to work our coverage...but 3 days before we were supposed to leave, I was told there wasn't enough money in the budget to send me!!!...

This year, they never said a word about anything!!!...

I have been busy bringing in all the different feeds from our truck, ESPN, NFL Films, etc...so at least I get to see some coverage not available to the general public...;)

Boomer....what is it you do?

Boomer....what is it you do?

I'm a "broadcast" engineer...which includes operating and maintaining the equiptment in the studio and transmitter site. I'm also on the remote crew (except when we go to Miami, evidently) and have freelanced several events for the networks over the years.

I started out as a disc jockey when I was student manager of my high school radio station, and worked for American Forces Radio and AFKN in Korea during my stint in the Army in the early 70's. I also did weather and sports on the air for awhile at a small station in Springfield, MO after I got out of the army, and got into engineering from there.

What Super Bowl were you at?

(It would be very cool if I find out it was SB XXXVII, which had your Raiders)

I use to work IT setup for the now defunct Chicago Sportschannel for the Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox. I would set-up computers and phone lines.

...and party with the Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox.....LOL!

I did the last Miami Super Bowl....and I TOO was on the field....it was raining pretty bad too....lol! The Super Bowl committee was SO pissed that they told the folks at Land Shark Stadium that IF they do NOT put up a dome, they will never host a Super Bowl again.

HMMMMMMM.......(crossing my fingers)

Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell is training in Arizona. The word is Russell has already shed some weight and he is working on improving his mechanics. It is Russell’s goal to show up for the Raiders’ off-season program in the spring in better physical shape and improved as a quarterback.

This is a good first step for Russell. He is likely entering his last chance in Oakland and he seems to be taking the situation seriously.

its about time. possibly good news for the raiders if it works out.

This fan wouldn't have a problem with him coming back to New England.

I would prefer another former Pats receiver coming back to Foxboro- Deion Branch.

There's been rumblings that Deion could be available, and he and Brady certainly had great chemistry. Also, we know Deion can perform on the biggest of stages (he was MVP of one Super Bowl, and had a truckload of receptions in another).

I like that idea, also.:up

It's been lost during their dreadful stretch of football since the 2003 season, but at the start of this decade, the Raiders were considered to be a damn good football team.

Games like this were proof of that.

Maybe the new decade will lead to a change in their fortunes.

Maybe the Raiders of the 2010s wlll rediscover a commitment to excellence.

(Because Salsa has been patient during this drought. Like many others whose team have struggled badly at different times in their history- Bill's Patriots in the early 90s, Wozniak's Lions since 2001, HD's early 2000s-pre LeBron Cavs he deserves better.)
