Now I don't want to come off as discrediting what Cassel has done so far, but before we all anoint him.....

Let's all remember he's played for ONE single year. Remember how high everyone was on Derek Anderson after the 2007 season? I highly doubt Cassel would be able to go to the Lions or Chiefs and repeat the same performance he clocked in with New England. Dare I credit the "system" Cassel was in more than anything else?

I am not saying you are totally wrong, but if it was just the system, why has system some what failed in New York and Cleveland. He is not Tom Brady, but as a long suffering Lions fan, I trust Cassel more than Sanchez or Stafford, I think Carrol's response was Bush League, but it does raise an eyebrow about Sanchez. As for Stafford he was underwhelming with a boat load of talent around him.

I just prefer the left tackle at pick #1 and I think Cassel is the best option for pick #21.

You're right about having reservations with Sanchez and Stafford. I think this year's QB draft class is pretty weak. If I were an executive of a struggling team (my Browns included), I'd chose to build my team starting with the offense/defense lines, then move outward to specialty position players.

Without a line, it doesn't matter how talented your QB, RB or WR is.
