I was watching the Alamo Bowl between Michigan State & Texas Tech & I was appalled by one of Texas Tech's senior offensive guards. I don't care that he was able to control Ndamukong Suh when Texas Tech played Nebraska,he had his face & bald head all painted up like he was a Mauri warrior. That constitutes "having fun," & I sure hope Roger Goodell lays down the law with him when he enters the NFL that there will be NO FUN ALLOWED in the "NO FUN LEAGUE."
To quote Roger Goodell," "Roger Goodell did not allow the NFL football player in the league so that he could have fun. The aim of the NFL was for players to be put to the test through hardship and hard hitting. An NFL player must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in the NFL. There is no humor in the NFL. There is no fun in the NFL. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious."

Roger Goodell said his own name in his own quote?

You started a new thread instead of dropping this in the NFL season thread, what are you trying to discuss? I think Goodell has been pretty awesome at reigning things in, I don't think some celebration is wrong, but when you have people bringing cell phones and props onto the field it does border on unsprortsmanlike (and i love me some Ochocinco). It's a competitive sport, and a business not a Vegas show.

Roger Goodell said his own name in his own quote?

Yeah it was hard for me to get around that one when mocking Roger Goodell.
This is the real quote attributed to the Ayatollah Khomeini concerning Islam.

"Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious." -- Ayatollah Khomeini.

I didn't want Roger to say "Allah" & I thought saying "God" was a bit extreme also.
But common, isn't the NFL under Roger Goodell just as humorless?

I actually thought that guard looked awesome all deck out. I'm not sure if he had tattoos on his head, but they showed him all painted up before it smeared from sweat & he did look scary. If he can stop Suh,he'll make a great addition to any team. his name is Brandon Carter. I don't want the NFL to turn into the XFL under Vince McMahon, but they are a bit pruddish & stuff shirted about a lot of stuff. I like celebrations like Billy "White Shoes" Johnson did in the 70's,or like the "banned" Ickey Shuffle in the 80's. Next thing you know, they'll ban the "Lambeau Leap."

No, I don't expect he'll be able to do that in the NFL. In the NFL your play conveys your attitude (Derrick Thomas, Bill Romonowski, Jared Allen), facepaint is pretty unnecessary.

He looks like a WWE wrestler though, not a football player.
