I live in tied spot to point at satellites with many trees around.
My son has a telescope that I used for setting up my dish, to find out if I can point at the satellites I wanted.
I put a angle-finder on the telescope and I used a compass, I set the height of the telescope lower than the bottom portion of the dish and then I looked through the scope to see if anything would be in the way. it took me 10 different location to find the right spot where I would get the most satellites with my dish.
Other folks here have use a piece of pipe and set an angle-finder on it, then they look through the pipe to see if they have a clear view to the satellite.
