UHF antennas work to some extent on higher VHF frequencies.

Inside antenna- Silver Sensor to UHF. Rabbit ears, coat hanger or small child to VHF.
Outside antenna- considering where you live, you are lucky. I have the Channel Master StealthTenna 3010 with internal amp on a 5' pole on my roof, and most of my stations are about 15 miles away. You probably don't need the amp. You can look this over

here from Warren Electronics. This antenna appears to be directional, but I can attest that the classification as multidirectional is correct. It is called "Stealth" because it is less noticable- or can be. They used to run ads showing it mounted below the eaves so as to be less noticable to neighbors. It certainly is not as large as some others.
