Good morning. I had purchased an Apricorn external hard drive for use with my Cablevision 8300 HD DVR, back in May. I love it and have recorded a ton of programs. I read on the Apricorn webpage that the expander is compatible with an DVR. That's good to know, because I will shortly be switching back to DirecTV. My question, though, is this, will any programming I have stored on the expander be lost if I connect to a new DVR? I am assuming that it will need to reformat once attached to a new device...anyone know for sure?

Thanks!!

Everything will be lost.
Even if you got a new 8300, everything would be lost.
The contents are stored encrypted and are tied to the box.

Just switched from Dish Network to Comcast...

Comedy Central + HD...cheapest option?
