ota hd programming without sat signal

Hi, I am having work done on my house and my sat dish is currently sitting in my bsmnt, I thought I could still get my ota hd channels but the box will not get past the searching for sat signal screen. any help would be great.

Try menu/ program guide. Then try selecting local channels.

What receiver is it? I think the 811 is the only receiver that still allows you to watch OTA channels without the satellite signal connected.

Try turning the receiver on, then quickly pressing the guide button and selecting an OTA channel. I do this all the time with our 622 when its storming and the sat signal goes out.
