OTA without sub

I thought i saw this question posted a while ago but i just did a search and I can not find the answer.

I am a current and long-time directv customer that would like to take a recently decommissioned hdvr2 (6.3) and use it as an OTA receiver. Is this possible? It keeps complaining about not being hooked up to the dish. In the manual it appears that you can use it as an OTA but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance!

Are you asking about a Hughes HDVR2 standard definition TiVo receiver? If you are the answer is"NO" it does not have an over the air NTSC tuner. It works only on a Directv system.
