I purchased a used Sat Buddy 2 today just because I couldn't pass it up, and have a couple of questions. :)

I read through the operations guide and that all seems pretty straight forward.

I assume that the meter picks up on a transponder (unknown to the operator which one) and tells the signal strength.

1. Can you select a certain transponder in the receiver, and the meter picks up on that TP only?

2. If so, can you switch polarity in the receiver and it will only pick up on that polarity?

It can also be used independently from the receiver. In independent mode, it will only switch a 22Khz switch, and or be used to select diseqc ports.

3. How does it know which polarity you want to tune if not using a multi-switch or receiver?

I guess that's it for now.

Any help in understanding how it works would be greatly appreciated. :)

super buddy

all you do is select the transponder on the keypay of the superbud.

you can select individual TP'S THAT'S WHY YOU BUY A SUPERBUDDY.

Unfortunately, this is a Sat Buddy 2.

I'm not looking for answers to questions that are in the guide. I am looking for those who have used one of these for a little practical experience tips. :)

Yea, but what else do you get for the $500 difference?
It might be worth the difference in price, but not to me at this point. I just want to learn how to maximize the use of what I have in hand. :)
