Not too sure how I feel about this, don't really like massive takeovers which lessen competition, since SES will now only not own the SES satellites, but also the Galaxy and Intelsat satellites.

Probably my biggest concern is that when SES built and launched their new fleet due to the loss of some of the C-band spectrum, not one of the satellites had any Ku band, unlike some of the Intelsat satellites. Basically they threw away the Ku band on, for example 103w, and the remainder of the SES satellites that have Ku band are getting long in the tooth.
