This is a series on National Geographic channel, another stupid reality show but today these guys are using old satellite dishes to build a radio telescope.
Not sure if it repeats or when, but I thought it would be interesting to see. (They claim they are real scientists from Huntsville AL but are playing up the redneck role very well)
It's on the air now, maybe you can catch the program another day. They really don't have a clue how to put this old fiberglass dish up lol.

Turned out they were wanting to use it for a radio telescope. They first 3 old dishnetwork dishes and wired them up in an array, and was able to get signals of some kind from deep space.
Then they decided to take an old 10' fiberglass somebody gave them, and tried to erect it like the big radio telescope dish in Aricibo PR, lol. They had suspended this thing by cables from 3 big poles they put in the ground somewhere. It did work somewhat but mostly it was just a comedy of errors.
