question--2 remotes / 1 receiver

Here's what I'm wanting to do:
Room 1. HD receiver. TV #1. IR remote that came with it.
Room 2. TV #2. Cable running through wall to the receiver in Room 1. RF remote so I can change channels in bed.

Will the receiver recognize both types of remotes? Or do they both need to be RF? (And I realize I can only watch 1 channel at a time with this set-up)

get an IR remote extender, Radio Shack sell them cheap. they even carry the audio/video wirelessly so you don't have to even run a cable between the rooms. just plug the TX unit RCA jacks to the back of the sat box and then plug the RX uniit to the TV in your bedroom. costs about 60.00, less if you catch them on sale.
