I was about to order the Jack Screw for my 10 footer when I came across this picture by ACRadio.

Notice he says "left hand drives for the Atlantic satellites" - - - got me thinking. My line of sight should be about 22W to 105W thus a left hand drive may be what i need.

Anyone know where to get such a "left hand drive"? AC?

The left hand drives are usually on the same isle next to the left handed screw drivers and the left handed ratchet set. :)

All kidding aside, the jack is simply mounted on the left side of the polar mount rather than on the right side.

I moved my actuator from the west side to the east and don't regret it. With mine on the west side the furthest east I dared go was 72W. Now I've scanned east to 53 and have jack to go. Still able to get to 137W. 139 could be possible also, but I'm running into trees. Much more activity on the eastern sats than the west.

Now that is funny !!! DUH - - - so it is how it is mounted not the jack screw itself. I Feel Silly! But that clears it up. Many Thanks.

The actuator on my Winegard dish is mounted on the West side and I'm able to get from 139w back to 40w without any problems to date. My SAMI actuator is also mounted on the West side and is able to get pretty much all that I can get with the Winegard? Only negative I see is that the further East I go the lower the counts per degree on the actuator, ie, on my SAMI with a SuperJack counts/degree at around 125w is 6 and back around 50w it's only 3. Same applies to my 10ft Winegard but it's not nearly as low @ around 17 counts/degree around 125w and 11 or so counts around 50w. But yeah, it you're more interested in stuff back eastward then it might be a good idea to mount the actuator on the East side and take what you can get on the other end.
