Is there any I can update the roster for NBA Live 2008 and NBA2k8 via the intranet so I can have all the current rosters for the game?

I would assume so, as they do it for Madden and similar games. In the Madden updates, they not only update who's on the roster but the ratings of the players as they prove themselves one way or another in the real world.
Yup MLB and NBA 07 had these features. I don't have the 08 versions, but considering 07 had them I think it would be safe to assume that 08 does as well.
