Question about returning equipment

I am considering canceling Dish and was wondering about returning the leased 622 I have. I've had it for several years, and the HDMI went out a while back. I haven't worried about since I can use component outputs anyway. If I cancel and send the 622 back with a non-working HDMI, will they charge me for a broken unit?
 
$15 return shipping fee will apply. Yep. Really.

You might be nice and put a note on it saying "HDMI failed."
