Hi Ice.
Maby i have asked before but i dont remember.
I would like to get the canadian feeds on Anik F1 at 107.3 W.
I pick them up witk my ariza 700 and Pansat 3500.
Sound is ok but the picture seem to be scrambled full of pixelation.
What kind of receiver would i need to clear that issue.
Thanks.

If you are talking about the Ku band feeds with a symbol rate of 5859, then you need a receiver capable of decoding 4:2:2 video.

Yes it is possible to purchase a receiver capable of decoding it, and it is legal since the feeds are broacasted unencrypted.

I believe that some if not all the recent Azbox and Quali-TV receiver are capable of decoding 4:2:2. All PC tuners with the right video codecs can also decode 4:2:2.

qwert pretty much nailed it

Those feeds are usually news uplinks and are mainly color bars...you can scan them with any receiver and usually its just an audio tone you'd hear...picture would be "scrambled" (green screen)

I watch this and any 4:2:2 signal with my Prof 7500 just fine too.
